What is Homology?
Homology looks at the similarity of structures and physiology of different species. Homologous structures can be like the wings of a a bat and bird. They originate from the same ancestor but they are functionally different. Homology is different than analogy. Something that is analogous, such as a bird's and bee's wings, have similar function but non necessarily the same ancestral origin [2].
What are model organisms?
Model organisms are nun-human species that can be used to study diseases found in humans. An advantage to model organisms is that they can breed faster, ethically better, allow you to see similar phenotypes found in humans. In my case, I am using zebrafish to study ALD. Zebrafish is a great model organism cause it allows you to visualize myelin formation, peroxisomes, and fatty acid buildup. These are key to examining ALD.

Discussion
ABCD1 is conserved in many species. The highest match is the mouse and the lowest is the komodo dragon. The trend that can be noticed is that it is more conserved between mammals than others.
